Supporting Individual Needs

The Bridge is a provision in the academy where pupils suffering from physical or mental health difficulties can be taught in a smaller setting. It is also a base used to support pupils with catch up interventions if required. Pupils working in The Bridge follow their normal timetable and work is provided by their subject teachers.

The Pupil Support Centre is a provision which supports pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Pupils accessing The PSC continue to follow their normal timetable but access additional personal development support alongside their mainstream curriculum.

We have a number of Learning Support Assistants and are in receipt of inclusion funding from the local authority to provide additional staffing which enables pupils with SEND to follow a full curriculum pathway in a mainstream setting.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leader provides pupils with access to a range of external agency support. School nurses visit every week and run drop in clinics, we also work closely with PC Beverley Jeffree (School and Early Intervention Officer) to pre-empt young offenders and offer support with preventing risk taking behaviours. We also access and signpost support for Young Carers, Parenting and Family support, CAMHS and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Childrens Partnership.
